At this time, the first meaÂsuÂring sysÂtems which are based on the principÂle of the conÂtiÂnuous moduÂlaÂtiÂon interÂfeÂroÂmeÂtry, also known as phaÂse-depenÂding or indiÂrect time of- flight meaÂsuÂreÂment, are leaÂving the laboÂraÂtoÂries and becoÂme an inteÂresÂting alterÂnaÂtiÂve to estabÂlisÂhed clasÂsiÂcal meaÂsuÂreÂment princiÂples, like triÂanÂguÂlaÂtiÂon or steÂreo-visiÂon. Based on this acquiÂsiÂtiÂon method of the third dimenÂsiÂon many meaÂsuÂring tasks can be solÂved easiÂly that have been put up with numeÂrous disÂadÂvanÂtaÂges in the past resulÂting in greÂat efforts. In respect to this disÂadÂvanÂtaÂges, the refeÂrence is made to the steÂreo-visiÂon approach wheÂreÂas a huge amount of comÂpuÂting power is necessaÂry deterÂmiÂne the disÂpaÂriÂty map. FurÂtherÂmoÂre, this approach calls for the detecÂtion of the requiÂred feaÂture points in both images. DisÂadÂvanÂtaÂges, as alreaÂdy descriÂbed in the paraÂgraph befoÂre, don’t appÂly on the meaÂsuÂreÂment sysÂtems based on time-of-flight approach. HoweÂver, theÂse sysÂtems are subÂjecÂted to other limiÂtaÂtiÂons cauÂsed by the underÂlyÂing meaÂsuÂreÂment principÂle itsÂelf and whoÂse impleÂmenÂtaÂtiÂon results in meaÂsuÂreÂment errors and ‑variaÂtiÂons. The matheÂmaÂtiÂcal basics and the corÂreÂsponÂding phyÂsiÂcal model are given to deriÂve the errors and to deveÂlop adeÂquaÂte corÂrecÂtion and caliÂbraÂtiÂons methods. In addiÂtiÂon, theÂre are other mainÂly exterÂnal effects that corÂrupt the meaÂsuÂred distance: the geoÂmeÂtry of the regarÂded sceÂne itsÂelf. In this conÂtext, two posÂsiÂble reaÂsons or rather trigÂgers have to be diviÂded: on one hand mulÂti-reflecÂtions witÂhin the sceÂne and on the other hand, reflecÂtions cauÂsed by objects that are locaÂted in minor distance to the meaÂsuÂreÂment sysÂtem witÂhin its path of rays. TheÂse cauÂses will be named stray light in the folÂlowing. For the first case, merely an estiÂmaÂtiÂon of the meaÂsuÂreÂment error can be done using a simuÂlaÂtiÂon approach. ConÂtraÂry to this, the error in the second case can safeÂly be calÂcuÂlaÂted by the inforÂmaÂtiÂon (distance and ampliÂtuÂde) that can be extracÂted from a taken shoot of the regarÂded sceÂne. The design of an approÂpriaÂte method for comÂpenÂsaÂtiÂon of the meaÂsuÂreÂment error in the second case is taken cenÂter staÂge of this theÂsis. The desiÂgned method based on simÂpliÂfied sceÂnes, geneÂraÂted in the laboÂraÂtoÂry, is valiÂdaÂted on real sceÂnes. The valiÂdaÂtiÂon and veriÂfiÂcaÂtiÂon of this method is conÂfirÂmed by the use of estabÂlisÂhed staÂtisÂtiÂcal tools.
