Das Buch | The study of the complex, three-dimensional and opaque wood structure is a difficult task to realize with common microscopy techniques. To characterize wood structures in three-dimensions, X-ray micro-computed tomography was used in this thesis. Through X-ray micro-computed tomography, this thesis revealed successfully anatomical structures of softwood and hardwood tissues in their three-dimensions. In this regard, this thesis also states the potential of this imaging technique for application to the characterization of untreated and treated wood. |
